As smart-manufacturing takes over, product-assembly processes keep evolving toward higher speed and better quality. Consequently, the automatic feeding of screws is now expected to meet ever-stricter standards in every assembly industry.
A screw-feeding machine (also called screw presenter, screw sorter, or screw arrangement machine) is a relatively simple automation device whose sole purpose is to line screws up in an orderly fashion so that operators—or robots—can pick them up quickly. It is a core subsystem of every automatic screwdriver and can be supplied in several styles:
step feeder
vibratory-bowl feeder
rotary-disc feeder

Traditional screw-driving was entirely manual: the operator held an electric or pneumatic driver in one hand, used the other hand to grasp a screw, aligned it with the hole, and then drove it home. This method is extremely slow; tiny screws are hard to handle, and screws can be contaminated a second time by touch. The arrival of screw-feeding machines has largely solved these problems.
The simplest form is the hand-held screw presenter found everywhere today. The operator pours screws of the required size into the hopper; the machine queues them up and stops each screw at a fixed pick-up point. The operator only needs to magnetize the bit or use vacuum to collect the screw and drive it into the product. Although this is already much faster than the fully manual method, it still struggles with non-ferrous screws and with very large screws because of the internal geometry of the presenter.
To push productivity even higher and reduce labor costs, Wuxi Danikor has developed a full family of automatic screw feeders that address the most common feeding challenges on the market.
Danikor currently sells three main types:
Vibratory-bowl feeder
Rotary-disc feeder
Step feeder
Each type is chosen according to screw dimensions, head style, material, batch size, and the actual production environment. Whether the application calls for single-spindle driving, a Cartesian platform, or multi-spindle synchronous driving, Danikor can match the feeder to the requirement.
Danikor Screw Feeder Highlights
High cost-performance ratio and rock-solid reliability
Extremely low jam rate: < 0.02 % for standard screws and < 0.05 % for screws with spring or flat washers. The rotary-disc version can reach zero jams.
Clean feeding: minimal friction between screw and mechanism, almost no chips or surface damage.
Safe, energy-saving, and high feeding speed.
